Wrought Iron Gates and Railings
The range of gates, railings, and balustrading is extensive - from traditional hand forged garden gates to impressive estate entrances and fabricated steel factory gates.
As well as the production of new steelwork, repair and restoration of 'classical' is undertaken, perhaps the most prestigious being the restoration of the 'Golden Gates' at Eaton Hall, and the refurbishment of the entrance to Hartlepool Historic Quay, opened by H.M. the Queen in 1993.

Town and City Centres
Many towns and cities are now improving and enhancing their main shopping centres and pedestrianised zones with the inclusion of decorative street furniture. James Godbold works closely with architects and town planners to produce a range of 'user friendly' items - seating, signposts, lighting, litterbins, planters, bollards, balustrades and grilles. Decorative ironwork for hotels, offices and public buildings to enhance entrances are also manufactured.

Wrought Iron Security
Security grilles and gates are becoming an increasing and generally austere part of everyday living. At James Godbold's Blacksmith Forge, wrought iron gates and grilles are produced which, as well as providing protection from the would be vandal or thief, are also aesthetically pleasing.

Private Commissions
As well as the larger commissions, a wide range of small one-off items are crafted to customer specifications, such as weather vanes, garden furniture, hand forged fireside furniture, gates, companion sets, dogs, horseshoe puzzles, candle stands and candlesticks, toasting forks, chestnut roasting pans, welly racks, foot scrapers, flower baskets and even chastity belts can be made to order.
