James Godbold Blacksmiths started trading from Egton - in the heart of the North Yorkshire National Park in 1985.  He started out carefully crafting pieces such as fireside tools and unique garden furniture, soon after local & regional tradespersons took notice.

Business bloomed and in 1998, due to limited workspace Godbold Blacksmiths relocated to the old bus depot in Egton.  The additional space and better facilities enabled the business to expand further with commission work being undertaken.

We supply customers from a wide variety of backgrounds including businesses such as William Morrison plc, B&Q, Regional Railways, Teesside University and Local and County Councils.

In 2004 a new office and showroom was built, further supporting the business’ growth.  Frequent requests come in from shops and galleries for commission work which can vary between £5 for a paper knife to £40,000 for park refurbishment's.  Every commission is considered.

Godbold Blacksmiths now employs a dedicated highly skilled workforce of Smiths’, Metal Fabricators and Site Fitters with the same attention to detail applied from the smallest to the largest of jobs.
